Sergeant First Class Courtney Martin, originally from Stafford, Virginia, joined the Army in 2012 and served in the 392D Band at Fort Lee, Virginia until 2014. Sgt. 1st Class Martin then served at the United States Military Academy at West Point from 2014 to 2020 as a piccolo player with the field music group “The Hellcats.” She also served as the Field Music Operations NCOIC and was a member of the West Point Lean Six Sigma program, resulting in her Green Belt certification. Sgt. 1st Class Martin holds a Master of Science degree in Sports Psychology from California University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Music degree in Flute Performance from the University of Texas at Austin. Sgt. 1st Class Martin joined The United States Army Field Band in 2020.
